Job Description

Willowdale Asset Management is looking for Market Garden Workers to join our farm team in Canfield, ON. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for sustainable agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply fertilizers and spray crops.
• Clean and maintain crops.
• Cultivate on a vertical farming system.
• Cut agricultural crops and seeds according to farm standards.
• Harvest crops, seedlings, and hand-harvest vegetables.
• Sort, grade, and pack fruits and vegetables.
• Greenhouse cleaning and maintenance.
• Weeding and irrigation.
• Examine produce for quality and readiness for market.

Work Conditions & Requirements

Work Environment:

• Fruit and vegetable combination farming.
• Miscellaneous crop farming.

Physical Demands:

• Fast-paced environment.
• Repetitive tasks, working under pressure.
• Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg or 50 lbs).
• Manual dexterity, standing for long periods.
• Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years preferred.
• Transportation: Own transportation required (public transport not available).
