Your Role: Advocacy in the Field
This is not a typical desk job. As an Outreach Worker, you will spend your time where the work happens—in the fields and community hubs of Riverside County.
Key Responsibilities:

Direct Outreach: Visit agricultural sites and community centers to offer America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) services.

Rights Advocacy: Educate workers on farmworker rights, employment terms, and the Workforce Services complaint system.

Hands-on Assistance: Help workers navigate the CalJOBS system, prepare employment forms, and file formal complaints regarding labor conditions.

Partnership Building: Develop strong ties with public/private agencies and agricultural employers to improve worker conditions and opportunities.

Condition Monitoring: Observe and report on the living and working conditions of migrant and seasonal workers.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this state position, candidates must meet specific civil service criteria:

Bilingual Proficiency: Must pass a Spanish fluency examination.

Exam Eligibility: All applicants must pass the Employment Program Representative exam prior to an interview.

Field Readiness: Ability to work outdoors, travel locally (including occasional overnights), and work occasional evenings or Saturdays.
