Overview
The Best Western Plus Norwester Hotel & Conference Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Hotel Night Auditor to join our team in Thunder Bay, ON. This critical overnight role ensures the smooth operation of the hotel during nighttime hours, balancing accounts, assisting guests, and maintaining safety and security standards. Key Responsibilities
As a Hotel Night Auditor, your responsibilities will include:
Guest Services
- Register arriving guests and assign rooms, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
- Process group arrivals and departures efficiently.
- Provide information on hotel facilities, services, and points of interest in the area.
- Assist clients/guests with special needs, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls.
Reservations and Financial Management
- Take, cancel, and change room reservations accurately.
- Process guests’ departures, calculate charges, and receive payments promptly.
- Balance cash, complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms with precision.
- Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
Administrative and Clerical Duties
- Perform clerical duties such as faxing, filing, and photocopying as needed.
- Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and handle inquiries efficiently.
- Follow emergency and safety procedures to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
Housekeeping and Maintenance Support
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain the hotel’s cleanliness and order.
- Monitor and address any maintenance issues during the night shift.
Customer Service Excellence
- Resolve complaints and claims in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide exemplary customer service to all guests, ensuring a memorable stay.
Experience and Specialization
Computer and Technology Knowledge
- Proficiency in operating a multi-line switchboard.
- Familiarity with Central Reservation Systems (CRS).
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and internet applications.
Sales Experience
- Experience in hotel and convention services is an asset.
