Overview
The Diplomat Motor Inn is seeking a visionary and results-driven Hotel General Manager to oversee its operations in the heart of Niagara Falls, ON. This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established establishment in one of Canada’s most iconic tourism destinations. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping guest experiences, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of hospitality.

Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience in hotel management or a similar leadership role.
Workplace Information
- This position requires on-site work. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
As the Hotel General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Diplomat Motor Inn’s operations. Your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
- Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs effectively.
- Develop and communicate the hotel’s strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with its vision and mission.
- Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and senior staff positions to streamline operations.
Operational Oversight
- Co-ordinate the work of various regions, divisions, or departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Establish operational objectives and formulate or approve policies and programs that drive efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Represent the organization in high-level negotiations and official functions, delegating representatives as necessary.
Team Management
- Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff, delegating necessary authority to them while ensuring optimal working conditions.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and innovation.
- Conduct performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for staff development.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and profitability.
- Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to optimize revenue while controlling costs.
- Oversee resource allocation to ensure efficient use of financial, human, and material assets.
Guest Experience
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring all guests receive exceptional service.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Continuously innovate and improve service offerings to exceed guest expectations.
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure the hotel adheres to all regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and labor laws.
- Monitor quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards in hospitality.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address operational weaknesses.
