Core Responsibilities
As a Cook at The Dive, you will carry out a full range of food preparation and kitchen service duties in a fast-paced, high-volume environment:
Grill and Short Order Cooking Prepare and cook items requiring light processing — pancakes, eggs, hamburgers, and breakfast sausages — to order and to standard.
Convenience and Specialty Items Prepare pizza, fish fillets, chicken nuggets, and broiled meats; mix cold sandwich fillings; prepare soups and gravies to recipe specification.
Food Preparation Peel, chop, dice, and bread ingredients; weigh and assemble items for the regular menu; replenish and maintain the salad bar to health and safety standards.
Sanitation and Food Safety Wash and clean all kitchen equipment; properly cover, date label, and store leftovers in accordance with strict federal food safety procedures. Obtaining a Food Handler’s Certificate within a specified period of hire is mandatory.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
Experience Required Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation gained in a grill, snack bar, or restaurant setting. Applicants must show the ability to follow food service instructions and perform basic arithmetic for portioning and inventory.
